LAST DAY IN NORTH DAKOTA

Today was our last day in North Dakota.  We spent the day walking around downtown.  Downtown is 2 blocks.  Every store was shut for the season except for 4.  So, not much to see.  I did have an unusual thing happen.  I had bought post cards to send to the grandkids.  I went to the Post Office to get stamps.  The lady at the Post Office asked me if I had enjoyed my visit. I told her I had. She said that she had friends and family telling her that they wanted to come visit and she told them that not to come. because they did not want any visitors because of Covid.  She wanted all visitors to go home.  OK......well......I wanted to say that was because she was a government employee and had a job and was drawing a salary and everyone else was welcoming tourist because that's how they made a living! Crazy.

We had gone into the National Park again last night to sit on top of the mountain and watch the sunset.  The bad thing ended up being that the smoke from the fires in California and Oregon and Washington had caused a haze in the sky.  It was great weather and the air quality wasn't too bad, so we enjoyed a glass of wine and watched the sun set as much as we could.  All the animals were out because it was just after dusk when we left.  Mr. W had to be very careful driving out.

Mr. W wanted to go check out the golf course in town.  He wasn't going to play, but he still wanted to look at it.  There was also a park he wanted to drive through.  I wanted to stay around the RV and sort of chill, but I also needed to do a little cleaning. So, he went without me.

We are leaving here tomorrow and headed to the Rapid City area.  We will be there for 2 weeks. We plan to see Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Deadwood, Devil's Tower, Spearfish Canyon, and who knows what else.  Mr. W's cousin and his wife are meeting up with us there.  Can't wait.

We stayed at Red Trails RV Park.  There isn't a big choice of RV parks.  We were here 5 nights and the cost was $185. We asked if they accepted Passport America or Good Sam.  The lady told us that they fill up every week so why would they do that? Well, alrighty then! It is a nice park.  The laundry was OK. The scenery around our site was very nice.  We had full hook-ups.  The sites are very level, but are grass. It is close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.
