Son, DIL, and grandkids came to "the lake" while the kids were on spring break. The grandkids always have a great time there. One great thing is that they can pretty much run "lose". There were a lot of kids there because it was spring break for several school districts and the kids all know each other from seeing each other during different times of being there at the same time. It was really too cold to do any water sports, but one day it did warm up to about 80 degrees and the kids decided they wanted to ride in the tube and ski behind the boat. They did but they were shivering when they got out of the water. While we were there, we celebrated Squeaky's birthday. Her birthday is March 20th.

Daughter's girls are out on spring break the week after Easter. We decided to go to South Carolina and spend some fun time with them on their spring break. So, we left "the lake" and headed to South Carolina.
The first night we spent at a beautiful state park in Mississippi. It is Roosevelt State Park right outside of Morton, Mississippi. It is not too far from Jackson, Mississippi. It had a beautiful lake with a huge water slide tube that dumps you into the lake. The sites were pretty with nice pads. It has 50 amp, water, and sewer. It was great. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
The second night we spent at Heritage RV park in Augusta, Georgia. It was a decent park with very nice office staff. We had a problem with the electrical box when we tried to plug up and someone was out to fix it right away. It is a typical RV park with everyone right next to each other lined up. The sites were crushed granite. One cool thing was that they had the small orange traffic cones on each site. The cones were actually solar powered lights that lit up at night. It was really pretty cool looking.
Today is Mr. W's birthday and we arrived in South Carolina today. We are staying at an RV park that Daughter called 'tacky-chic'. I think that is a pretty good way to describe it. It is one of those parks that they originally put some money into developing the park, the park filled up with people that moved into here to live in their RV, the park is making enough money off of those people to stop putting money into the park to attract real RVers. They only have 8 sites in the park for anyone other than permanent residents. We will only be here for 4 days, so I'm not sweating the small stuff.
After we got here and got set up, Daughter and Curly and Popcorn came out to the trailerhood to have dinner and to celebrate Mr. W's birthday. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and had tiramisu for birthday cake. I think it is safe to say that Mr. W had a great birthday.
