GETTING RID OF "STUFF"

I had a timeline for retirement and RV living.  In this timeline, I thought it would take several months to sell the house.  Since it would take several months to sell the house, I would already be retired and able to work at a leisurely pace to pack up a 2400 sq. ft. home.  Imagine my surprise when it only took 24 hours to sell the house.  Yes, I said 24 HOURS to sell.  That meant that I was still working and trying to store, sell, throw away, donate 38 years of accumulated "stuff" in a little over 5 weeks.  YIKES!

The decision of what to get rid and what to store began.  The furniture wasn't hard to do.  It's all the little sentimental things in your drawers and closets that proved to be the biggest challenge.  Some of the things have been hard but overall it has been liberating.  I have to admit that I have had a couple of occasions where I stop, look around, and think "what the heck am I doing?".  But most of the time, I get excited about the new journey I am getting ready to embark on.

One thing I have realized quickly, the old "blonde" mare, she ain't what she use to be! My back aches, my knees ache, my arms ache, and muscles I forgot I had are screaming at me to stop.  Last night, Mr. W even rolled over on the floor unable to get up from pulling his back! Not a good thing. So, this is not for the faint of heart OR the 50 something body parts!

Here are some before and after (or where we are today) pics.  Closing on the house is next week.
