BRIARCLIFFE RV RESORT IN NORTH MYRTLE BEACH

When I was in Myrtle Beach, I stayed at Briarcliffe RV Resort.  It is also a Coast to Coast (C2C) park.  Like we have found in many of the parks, this park was originally a "members only" park. The rules in this park were, you buy a membership and you could stay 14 days and then you had to leave for 6 before you could come back.  You could do this as many times during the year that you wanted. You have to call and make reservations in advance.  You can't just show up. Well, I guess you could just show up but you aren't guaranteed a spot if you do. There was no maximum number of days you could stay in a year.  You could also pay or "buy" the 6 days you were suppose to leave and stay if there was room in the park.  Also, if the park is full and someone calls to a reservation, it is "first in - first out".  That means, whoever has been there the longest, has to leave to make room for the person who is coming in.

To go back even further, when the park originally opened, you could purchase a space (as in purchase real estate).  Most of these spots had very similar park model trailers on them.  The park models were decked in, they were double wide with roofing and most had landscaping done around them.  They either were someone's home now or a place they kept as a weekend home or a rental property.  There were a few sites that people had put a 5W on with some decking and made it a pretty permanent site.

They have also opened this park to the public. So, if you aren't a C2C member, you can stay here for $61 a night. It has full hookups with 50 amp service.  It is conveniently located right on Hwy 17.

They have a big clubhouse which has several rooms for groups of friends to use to play cards or dominoes or whatever. There is an exercise room and there is a big dining hall where they have breakfast available every Saturday morning for $4 and they have a church service every Sunday morning.  During the winter, they have line dancing here every M-W-F morning.  This is also where the pool is.

Across the street from the clubhouse, along one side of the park's property, is a basketball court, a playground, and a miniature golf course.  They have 2 laundry facilities and 2 restroom/shower facilities.  The sites are close together but are paved and very level.  As in almost all of the places we have stayed, we met some really nice people.

If I visit Myrtle Beach again, I'm sure I will stay here.  You can't beat the C2C price.  I know it sounds like a lot at $61 a night, but in this tourist city, that's about the going rate.  There is a state park close by that has full hookups and I think it is about $50 a night.  So, as you can tell, everything is priced a little high.
This was my site. As you can see it wasn't quite long enough for Mr. W to park the truck straight. You weren't suppose to park on the grass but the lady in the office said that as long as 2 wheels were on the concrete, you were good.

This is the road where my site was. You can see that everyone is parked very close together.

The pool

This is the inter-coastal canal and it was right behind the pool and the back side of the RV park.  It was pretty cool to sit and relax at the pool and see all the boats/yachts/wave runners go by.
