MYRTLE BEACH

I traveled from Virginia Beach to Myrtle Beach last Wednesday.  I happily report that the new shackle did not have any problems. YAY!

I am staying at Briarcliffe RV Resort in North Myrtle Beach.  It is a C2C park.  It is a nice park with a lot of nice amenities.  But, you are very close to each other.  There will be more info in another post about this place and I will include pictures.

Myrtle Beach reminds me of Branson on the beach.  There are theaters with nightly shows.  There are miniature golf and grand prix race tracks everywhere.  It has 2 Tanger Outlet malls and huge souvenir shops every couple of blocks.  If you like buffets, this is the place for you.  It is hard to find a restaurant that isn't a buffet.

Also, like Branson, if you stay on the "main drag", you are stuck in horrible traffic and go at a snail's pace down Hwy. 17.  They have built several very nice alternate routes to get you around town.

I have been driving around trying to get my bearings and trying to figure out where everything is.  It is very touristy here and you could spend a lot of money quickly. One thing I have figured out is that I'm not really so interested in doing the touristy things anymore.  I really have enjoyed doing the bicycle riding, hiking, hanging out at the beach or parks and there isn't really any place to do that here. But, I'm going to be here 2 weeks so I'm still exploring things to do and places to go. 

By the way, Daughter, SIL, and granddaughters, Curly and Popcorn will be here to visit this weekend.  I can't wait to see them.
